New Bike / Swimming At Cottage

Hi Baby Girl!

New Bike

You really haven’t been riding your tricycle much this summer, but hopped on it in the house recently and you were really good.  You rode it all around the house with no problem.  Soooo, we decided to go buy you a bike with training wheels.  We went out shopping and looked around at a few stores.  We got you a blue bike with robot on it … you really liked it.  Its a 14” bike.  It seemed almost a bit too big for  you, but it will do you for a while.  The 12” that you were trying was too small for you.

Here’s a few photos of you on your new bike.

You had a lot of fun.   You really love your new bike.  You aren’t strong and balanced enough to go riding by yourself yet, so I still follow you around.

Swimming

You and I went swimming at the cottage for the first time this year.  We played on the shore for a while, and then we played around on the raft.  The water was pretty warm.

Here you are testing the water.  The tide was on its way in.

Our wet footprints together on the patio stones on the shore…. awwww … you have such cute little feet.

Finally swimming … we had lots of fun.

First Sport – Soccer #11

Hi Baby Girl,

This evening you joined your first official sport.  It was your first night a soccer at the Eliot River Ramblers Soccer Club.  Your first sport jersey number is #11.   You had lots of fun and did really well.  You would have done even better if we had practiced with you a little so you would know the rules a little better …. that your goal is to kick the ball in the net and that you can’t pick up the ball with your hands.

Your first soccer experience consisted of some fun stuff like running around, kicking the ball, running and picking up cones, and a 3 on 3 game at the end against another team.

There’s my cute little athlete.

IMG_4650 crop

You had a lot of fun.  Almost looks like you’re posing here.

IMG_4653 crop

Here you are running and kicking the ball.

Here you are kicking the ball to a team mate in a practice drill.

IMG_4600 crop

You had fun in the drill running to pick up cones.  Looks like your team mates are cheering you on.  There’s our cute little #11.

IMG_4615 crop

Here you are playing a 3 on 3 game at the end.  Looks like you knocked one of the kids over.

IMG_4735 crop

Running after the ball … having a tonne of fun.

IMG_4705 crop

I think you tackled the poor boy in blue shorts to get the ball.  Then another boy fell on top of you.  Even in a big pile-up, you still had your hand on the ball.  I took a few more photos of you climbing out of the pile-up with the ball in your hands.  You might be pretty good at rugby too.

IMG_4724 crop

A few times you picked the ball up with you hands.  You ran as we yelled to you to put the ball down and kick it.  This photo was taken during a game.  You grabbed the ball and ran toward the net.  One of your team mates ran beside you.  You stopped before getting to the net and set the ball down.

You did really well and had lots of fun.  I can’t wait till next week to watch you again.

I love you!

Tee Ball

Hi Big Girl!

Mommy and I signed you up for tee ball and soccer.  They will be starting soon.  So you can get some practice we bought you a glove, a ball and a tee.  We have a small bat that I think used to be Cameron’s.

Tonight I set it up in the yard.  We threw the ball back and forth a few times and I set the ball up on the tee for you.  I gave you some pointers on holding the bat and swinging at the ball.   You did pretty well.  You hit the ball a couple times.

IMG_1538 crop

You got the most enjoyment out of knocking the tee stand over.

IMG_1542 crop

We played a little catch too.  You kept trying to throw the ball from your glove … you silly girl.

IMG_1521 crop

You mostly just wanted to play on the swing.  You did take a break from swinging a couple times to play with the tee ball.

Swinging And Pumping Your Legs / Can I Take My Seatbelt Off

Hi Sweet Girl!
Pumping Your Legs
Today when we picked you up from school, you said “I learned to pump my legs on the swing today”.   You already knew how to pump your legs to move yourself on the swing, but I guess you learned how to do it better today.
When we got to Sherry’s (Will’s babysitter) you ran down to the swing set.  You did really well swinging yourself really high.    You had big smiles for the camera as you were kicking your feet and swinging.

Can I Take My Seatbelt Off Please
Every time we get somewhere in the van, like when we stopped in the driveway at Sherry’s today, and when we went to the store, etc, you put your hands on y our seatbelt buckle, look at us and cutely say “can I take my seatbelt off please”.  We say yes and also say thank you for asking so nicely.
A little while ago you learned to unbuckle your seatbelt and sometimes unbuckled it before we actually stopped.  We were very stern with you and told you that it is very important that you do not take your seatbelt off until we say it is OK.  So now you ask nicely every time.  You’re such a nice sweet girl.
I love you sweet baby!

Recognize Numbers / Sweet Loving Girl

Hi Sweet Baby Girl!

Recognize Numbers

This evening you really surprised me.  You wanted to make popcorn and wanted to press the buttons on the microwave, so I picked you up so you could press the buttons.  While waiting for the popcorn, I pointed at each number in order from one to nine.  You knew every one of them…  but you’ve known how to count for a while.   You said “what about zero” ….  haha… you’re a silly smart girl.

What really impressed me was that you named off some of the numbers that I pointed to randomly.  You recognized around 4 different numbers as I pointed to them.

Later we brought Mommy over to show her.  She also recorded a video on the camera.  Of course you silly girl…. you said “I don’t know” for most of the numbers we pointed to.

Sweet Loving Girl

You were extra sweet and loving today.  You gave us lots of hugs and snuggles.   You snuggled and said “I lovvve you daddeeee” a few times.  A few times you also said to us, “I love William”.  You also gave him lots of hugs.  It was cute.  Your hugs did turn into squeezes and William got mad and was screaming.  I took some pictures.  I didn’t get any really good ones, but these ones were cute.

Needed Mommy To Lay Down With You

You stayed up until after 9 this evening, which is pretty late for you.  Mommy was saying, you’re 3 now, so you can go to bed by yourself.  Mommy took you up to bed to tuck you in but ended up wanting her to lay down with you.  You said to Mommy … “I know I’m 3 now mommy”.  Mommy said “does that mean that you are going to bed by yourself”.  You replied “no, that means I want you to sleep with me”.  So, Mommy layed down with you for a while.

I love you sweet baby girl!

You Nutty Performer / Spelled Your Name / Didn’t Want Me To Lay Down With You

Hi Little Baby!

Its funny… I still call you that…. little baby.  I’ve always called you that.  Even still, when I snuggle with you or give you a hug I say “I love you little baby”.  I may always call you little baby.

You’re Such A Silly Nut & Performer

This evening before we went home, we stopped at a grocery store to get a couple things for supper.  Soooo, first you walked past a couple people in line at the checkout and threw the item you were carrying up on the belt.  We reeled you back.

Second, you just needed to hold the darn basket while we were standing in line, even though it was heavy.  You made me put it down so you could pick it up.  You’re a strong little girl though.  You surprise me with the size and weight of some things you pick up.

You didn’t do this this evening but it got me thinking.  You are so independent and want to do things yourself.  If I do something like put groceries on the belt at the check out, and you decide you wanted to, you get mad and say “I wanted to do it” and bully me out of the way.  You even will undo what I did … you will take the groceries off the belt, put them back in the basket or cart and start again, doing it yourself.  Silly silly girl.

So third … while at the checkout when were getting ready to pay, you scrambled your way around in behind the cashier.  You looked up at us with a big smile on your face and said “look at me …… I’m working” while you pretending to quickly put groceries into plastic bags with both hands.  After we and the cashier and other people in the store had a laugh, you looked up with a big bubbly smile and said loudly “have a good nite”.

Wrote Your Name

This evening you were playing on your Innotab.  You said you wanted to write your name.  I went over to help you out.  You were in the right place, I just pushed a button to bring up the onscreen keyboard.  You then typed the letters of your name.  You’re such a smart little girl.  I took a picture of you posing with your Innotab.  You still have ketchup on your face from supper.

Didn’t Want Me To Sleep With You

Lately you’ve been falling asleep downstairs watching TV by 7 or 8 PM.  Then I carry you up to bed.  For the longest while before that, You needed me to bring you to bed, tuck you in and lay down with you.  I often tuck you in and try to get out before you notice, but you always say in such a sad cute voice … “daddeeee … I want you to sleep with me”.

Last night you said that you were ready for bed.  I went up to your room with you, tucked you and went over to shut your curtains.  You said “daddee … I don’t want you to sleep with me”.  I just gave you a hug and a kiss and left you to fall asleep on your own.  That was quite a surprise.  I guess you are a big girl now.

I love you sweet baby girl!

Wrote Your Name !!! Smart Girl !!!

Hi Smart Doodle Doo Bopper!

Wrote Your Name!!!

It was a nice day so you spent most of the day outside on the front walkway and on the back deck.

I brought some sidewalk chalk and other toys out to the front walkway for you.  Soon after you went out, you came in saying “I wrote my name”.   I went out to have a look and you did write your name with chalk on the driveway.

I am totally amazed.  I’ve been amazed enough that you can spell your name and that you recognize the letters in your name.  Still, every time you see an E in a sign or somewhere…. you say “Hey … E starts with my name”… silly smart girl.

Here you are posing with your amazing work.  Your name is spelled backwards, and the M`s and A are a bit hard to read, but you did it… you frigging did it …. you spelled your name.   After I took a couple photos and was heading back into the house, you noticed some cloud formations when looking at me and said “that cloud looks like an M”.  I looked up, and you were right … it did.

Playing In Snow Last Weekend

You had fun playing in the snow last weekend.  You were using a little shovel that William got from the Easter Bunny.  You were scooping up snow and throwing it over your shoulder.   A couple times, the snow went back of your jacket.  I brushed it off your neck while you giggled and squealed.

IMG_2259-crop

After playing in the snow, you played on your slide up on the deck.  You were going down head first.

Easter / Dancing / Counting Backwards / Frigging Dog

Hi Silly Emma!

Easter
You had lots of fun hunting for chocolate Easter eggs at home last weekend.  The Easter Bunny also brought you some candy, chocolate eggs and some chocolate bunnies.  Here’s a cute picture of you crouching down with your candy.

IMG_2033-crop

Met Easter Bunny
We went to the annual Cornwall Easter egg hunt last Monday.  We got a bunch of snow on the weekend so the ground was covered.  You had lots of fun finding plastic Easter eggs.   They were also giving out treat bags.  We were one of the last ones there so you went up to them several times and got six treat bags.
Here you are picking up some eggs.

Still Dancing – You Were Bad Today At Class
You are still going to your dance class.  You seem to have a lot of fun.  Here you are in one of your pretty dance dresses.

IMG_8076-crop

Most classes you listen very well.  You don’t always follow instructions, but for the most part you listen quite well.  Today was different.  Mommy was away, so I had to take you and William both.  I let you take your Dora backpack in, mainly because you packed your dance shoes in it and my hands were full with William and his bag.  It started at the first of class with you wanting to put your backpack on for dance class.  You cried and fought with me and finally went to the dance floor without it.   Soon you came back to fight with me for it again.  We compromised to let you set it on the edge of the dance floor.  At one point you brought it on the dance floor and put it in the middle of a circle you and all the other dancers as you danced.  A bit later you melted down because you wanted to keep the backpack on the edge of the dance floor…. I said it has to be off the dance floor.  I told you that it could either be on the floor off the dance floor or we’d be going home.  You were a real brat.  You were crying and disobeying and a couple times you grabbed the backpack and ran away from me.  I was getting pretty mad.  In the end, you decided to set it on a chair off the dance floor for the rest of class.

So for the rest of class there were no more outbursts or disruptions, but you still weren’t acting as good as you usually do.  You weren’t following instructions very well.  When your teacher asked everyone to do something like line up, you were sometimes laying on the floor, or sitting on the floor by the mirror or just moving really slowly.

Counting Backwards
Today while we were playing you said “lets count backwards daddy”.  You counted backwards from five.  You’re a pretty smart little girl.

Frigging Dog
I was feeding William in his highchair and you were standing at the fridge playing with the papers and magnets.  Jaxon heard something and let out one loud bark.  It startled William and may have startled to you.  After a few seconds I heard you say “frigging dog” …  then paused, said it again, paused, and said it at least one more time.  You silly girl.  I laugh at some of the things you come out with.

I love you baby girl!
