Dancing to Elmo's Song
When we were playing in your bedroom tonight, you walked over to your dresser and started reaching for the stereo on your dresser. You were trying to reach the buttons and were saying "Eeelmo ... sonng .... la la". There is a Sesame Street CD in there that we play for you. You wanted to listen to Elmo's Song. When I started it, you came over to me and said "cmmon... dessse", grabbed my hands and started to dance with me. We held hands and danced around in circles. Several times, you would let go of one hand and twirl. You're so funny.
Beebeee In Belly
When we were laying in your bed, trying to get you to sleep, you lifted your shirt up, tapped your belly with your finger, and said "beebeee .... in belly". I said nooooooo, there's a baby in Mommy's belly. Then you responded with one of your adorable repeating questions... " a Mommeeees bellly?".
I love you!

You are so amazing. Every couple of days, I notice that you are talking and understanding more and more. You are speaking more in sentences. You are pointing out things that interest you and you can talk about and describe them. You seem to understand almost everything we say to you.
When I picked you up at Nikki's after work this evening, you ran to me and jumped into my arms with a huge smile on your face. You yelled Daddeeeeee as you jumped to me. When I picked you up, you turned around to Nikki, Sara and Ryan and said very assertively a couple times ... "MY DAAA-DEEE!!!"
Tonight when we were sitting on the couch, trying to quiet down before bed, you layed down on your back, pointed your foot to me and said "aa rub aa toessss". You sure are Mommy's girl :)
Want Daddee to Lay Down With You
After letting you play and watch TV in the living room for a while, you agreed to go to bed. Lately its strange for you to agree to go to bed. I think we've already told you that you now go to sleep in your own bed. We have to lay down with you most nights though. For the last little while, its been hard to get you to go to sleep. You don't want to go to bed. When we say its time for bed, you say "Noo" and go on about your business. When we get you in to bed, you fight us and try to climb out of bed, yelling "coussssh" or "Teeeveeee".
Right now, you only want Daddeee to lay down with you. I'm not sure why, but its OK. Hopefully you will let Mommmee lay down with you some day.
I Tired Too
Tonight when we were laying in bed, I said, "I'm tired"... you replied by saying "I tired too". It was pretty cute. I said nite nite emma... and you replied with a cute "niittte niitte dadddee". You're so sweet.
Criss Cross & Round and Round the Garden
While we were laying in bed, you started saying "cisss coss". I didn't know what you were saying so I got you to repeat it a couple times. I finally figured it out what you wanted. You were laying on your belly and wanted me to rub your back like Mommy does. She plays a game with you where she rubs your back. She says "criss cross apple sauce, spiders crawling up your back, tight squeeze, cool breeze, now you got the shivers" ... she finishes it by tickling your back. Next you said "round and round" you wanted me to play another game which is "round and round the garden, like a teddy bear, one step, two step, tickle under there" ... finishing by tickling your neck. Each time I do it. You snicker, and smile and then said "gennnn" asking me to do it again.
I love you wonderful baby!

You've been quite the little musician over the christmas holiday. You sure loved the piano at the family christmas party at Mommy's uncle Louie's house. Here's a couple photos of you playing the piano.
You got some toy musical instruments for christmas. In the package, you got a drum, maracas, a tamborine, a guitar and a wrist band with bells on it.
Here you are shaking your maracas.
I love you smart baby!

When your cousin Noah was born just before Christmas in 1999 I gave him an ornament for Christmas and gave him an ornament every year since. I gave Benjamin an ornament every year since he was born a couple years after Noah. Then in 2008, I gave one to Jenna ... and of course, I gave one too you to my sweet baby.
Christmas 2008 - Your First Christmas
This is the first ornament that I made for you. I bought it as a plain wooden ornament and I painted it.
We think that Mommy's cousin Carrie gave this ornament to you when you were born.
Christmas 2009 - Your Second Christmas

We took you skating for the first time today. Well, Mommy and I didn't skate this time. We decided to just wear sneakers so we could hold you up more easily. It was a special skate organized by the Engineers Association. There was hot chocolate, candy and Santa Claus was there. You got your picture taken with Santa a few times. You sure loved skating. You cried and fussed when it was time to get off the ice.
Here’s a picture of you with Santa Claus.
Here’s a picture of you skating.
Knowing Your Numbers
You are getting good at knowing your numbers. You know your numbers 1 through 10, but you can't say them start to finish yet. We'll start you off and you'll say a number or two, then we say another number and you keep going with another one or two. Sometimes you get the order messed up, or you just keep saying the same number over and over.
Christmas Lights and Knowing Your Colours
You know some of the colours but you can't really identify the right colours by sight yet. You say gweeeen, lelllow, redddd, bluue, orrrange but when you're pointing at a colour, you rarely say the right colour. You like the christmas lights. You go over to the tree and touch them. I try to get you to say the colours. Every time we walk by the bush out front, you want to touch the lights... you reach for them and say "aaa touuush ittt".
Bye House, Bye Lights
This evening, when we were leaving in the van, you were saying "byyyye houssssse ... buyyye lights". The were saying goodbye to the christmas lights on the outside of the house.
I love you cute baby!

We've told you that Mommy has a baby in her belly. Last week, Mommy pointed to her belly and said, "Emma, what's in here". First you said "shamu" … haha. That was because you were having supper on your shamu plate and were saying shamu a couple times before that. After we had a laugh, we asked you again. You gently poked Mommy's belly and said "baby". Then you said "kiss" and moved in and gave Mommy's belly a kiss. It was pretty cute. I was taking a video… but I missed the shamu part.
We took you to see Santa Clause at the mall while we were shopping on Saturday. We didn't plan to bring you there. If we planned it, we would have dressed you a little better and might have put your hair in cute pony tails. Haha ... Oh well, what can ya do, we got your picture taken anyway. Your silly pants are riding up your legs. I should have fixed your pants at least. You sat on Santa's knee, but didn't seem overly excited. You actually look a little curious and concerned. I guess at your age, he's still a stranger. On the ride home tonight, I asked you if you were excited that Santa Clause was coming.... you acknowledged with a couple nods while you were sucking your thumb. Here's a picture of you and Santa.
Ohh, you make me laugh. You can say pretty much everyone's name pretty well, but you always call Cameron "maa-mon" or "maa-mron". Usually, when we correct you, you say it right. It makes me laugh ... I'm not sure why... its just funny. You'll be talking and refer to Cameron as "maa-mron" or you'll call for him by saying that. If he walks in the room, you'll say "maa-mron". Cameron often corrects with a stern "Camm-ronnn", and sometimes you'll say it correctly and sometimes you just say it wrong again. You silly duck.
Picking On Cameron
Tonight at supper, Cameron was sitting beside you. You kept reaching your left foot out and touching his elbow while he ate. Each time, he'd flap his arms and make crazy sounds like a big bug landed on him. You're react by laughing hysterically. You guys did this same thing a whole bunch of times. Here's a picture of you laughing your head off.
Dressed For Outside
Playing at McDonalds
Here's a picture of you and Cameron's cousin Ethan. He's a couple months younger than you.
I love you baby girl!

You were pretty excited about the parade. You, Jenna and Ben loved all the candy that people in the parade threw to and handed to you. You stuffed your pockets with candy. Here's a photo of you picking up some candy that someone threw from a float.
You loved all the trucks. You waved and yelled "hiii truck" and waved bye after they went by. Here's a photo of you yelling "hi" to the trucks and people in the parade.
One of the funniest things was how you reacted to a couple potatoes. There were a couple people dressed up as giant potatoes. As you were watching them walk up the road, you were screaming "Hiiiii Tatooooooo ... Hiii Tatoooooooo". It was pretty cute.
Here's a picture of you and Jenna waiting with excitement for the next float to come.
Santa Claus was the last float. You were excited to see Santa and the reindeer, though you were more excited about the potatoes. You don't really understand Santa and Christmas, but your excitement is starting to build. By the time christmas gets here, I'm sure you'll be very excited.
Here's a photo of you and Mommy. You were excited. You were waving and yelling "hi" to Santa Clause and the reindeer.
Putting Christmas Lights Up Outside
We bought a really nice new artificial christmas tree last night. We put it up tonight. While I put the tree up, you helped me out, played a bit, and walked in circles around the tree. You were playing with the lights and the tree. You said "I liiike it".
This morning when we were getting out of bed, you lifted up your pajama shirt, were holding your belly and whimpering that you were hurt. There was a little scratch on your belly. You said "haaaa-leee bite" in a kinda sooky voice. Harley is Grammie's puppy. You were playing with him at Grammie's house yesterday. I guess he must have scratched you :) You said it a few times throughout the day today. You were scratching at your hip at one point and also said "haaaa-leee bite" and later your were scratching at your back and saying the same thing ... sooooo, I don't know. I don't think Harley bit you all over :)
Sleeping In Your Own Bed
I don't think we updated you on your sleeping habits lately. For a long time, I think since we got back from Florida, you don't need to go to our bed to fall asleep any more. We lay down with you in your bed, and you fall asleep. Now, you usually wake up somewhere between 5 am during the week and come trotting into our bedroom. I scoop you up, grab your blankie and throw you in bed between us. Sometimes you wake up in the middle of the night, but not very often. On the weekends, you often don't wake and come into our bed until closer to 7 am.
You love to watch TV. You love In the Night Garden. When I turn it on, your eyes light up and you say "Pigggo Pigggo" for Iggle Piggle. You also love Toupie and Binou, but you also love watching almost every show on the Treehouse Channel. For the last few days, its been hard to get you to go to bed. When I take you in to bed. You whine and cry and say in a sad, whining voice "couuussssh ... couuussssh" You want to go back to the couch and watch more TV. I try to get you to lay down a few times, and if you're still crying to go to the couch, I take you back out to give you a little more time watching TV. A couple times, it took me a few tries to get you to bed... I'd take you to bed.. you'd cry to go to the couch... I'd take you back out... after a little TV.. I'd take you back to bed... you'd cry again, etc, etc.
Tonight when I took you to bed, you cried to come back to the couch, so I took you out. We watched Toupie and Binou. When it was over 20 minutes later, I quitely said, its time for bed. You said "noo ... couuussh". So I left you for a few minutes. Then you sat up, reached for me, and said "aaa tiimmme for bed ?" So cute. I picked you up, took you to bed and layed down with you. You fell asleep in a few minutes. You were tired.
I love you cute little baby girl!

You sure do talk lots. Its so cute. You're a little parrot. You repeat things all the time. You also know so many words and phrases.
It was funny, on the weekend, you were in bed with us and you wanted me to get up. You were trying to push me out of bed, and was saying "shuuurt onnnnn dadddeee". When I finally sat up and put a shirt on, you said "pannnts onnnn daddeee". You picked up a pair of my pants, handed them to me and said "heeeree-gooo".
Dancing On New Floor
I replaced your bedroom floor carpet with laminate flooring on the weekend and rolled out a new mat for you. You were pretty excited about the new floor and mat. You were dancing on the mat. You stutter-stepped on the mat and turned in circles. I stood on the mat and did it with you. You then pressed the button on your Elmo book to play music, grabbed my hands and said "dannsssss daddeee". We then danced around. You mostly would hold one hand and twirl in circles. You're such a cute little girl.
Juuuuis, Bilk & Waaader
When you ask for a "baa-baaa", you know what to ask for. You mostly want juice... you love orange juice. When we don't have any, we say there isn't any, would you like milk or water. Your reply is "juuuuis aaaaall gonnnnne ?" When you want milk, you now say "bilkkk". We'll say, do you want some water... you reply by saying "no, juuuis" or "no, waaader". Sometimes I think you're just trying to be a comedian, because you'll ask for one thing, then ask for another, when we confirm with you, you'll ask for something different again. Tonight, I said do you want some juice, I'll get you some juice. I was holding you in my arms while I was pouring it. You were saying "Iiii liiiikkke juuuis".
You're such a cute baby! I love you!

Later I gave my mom a call and gave you the phone… You said hi and when you heard who it was, you said "hiiii grammmie". You were pretty hyper. You were in our bedroom, walking in circles around a luggage case on the floor and saying "feee fooour feee fooour feee fooour ……" I think you were counting a couple of minnie mouse t-shirts (for you and Jenna) that were on top of the luggage.
It was a windy night and you could hear the wind howling outside of our bedroom window. A couple times, you said to Grammie, "aaa heeear aaat? ….. Hrrrruck." You were asking her if she could hear that….. The truck. It was cute.
You are so cute. You hear everything. It was so funny. You were in your high chair this morning. We were all busy as we usually are in the morning. Mommy was gathering some things for our lunch and said to me … "do you want some crackers Jeff?" A short while later you looked at me and said " … aaaa-an some caackers .. Jeff ?" Haha… it was so funny. You said it a couple times.

Tonight I was reading you one of your books. You sure love your books. You often aren't patient enough to let us read them to you. You want to turn the pages, and say "aaa daaat" while pointing at things, or now you actually know what many things are and you point them out and say them. The book was called Bug's Big Baby .. its about Bugs Bunny looking after a Bear. Anyway, its a musical book, with five buttons down the side. The buttons have different pictures on them and make different sounds. The same picture as the buttons is also all throughout the story. When you get to that picture, you are supposed to press the same button. When we reached those parts of the books, I would point in the story and say, press that button. You would then press the right button all on your own. You are so amazing. You got every one of them right for the whole story. You are so smart.
I love you smart baby!

You are such an amazing little girl. We can't believe how much you are talking lately. Your vocabulary is growing bigger and bigger every day. You say so many things. You repeat everything that is said to you. When we say something to you, you repeat the last word or the key word in the sentence. You just seem to be constantly talking. When you repeat something, you say it in such a cute little voice, and you have intonation in your voice so you are repeating a word as a question. You say a word, and make your voice really cute and high pitched at the end of the word. Its so cute.
On the weekend, you pulled a box of Kraft Dinner out of the cupboard (actually you pulled 3 boxes out at the same time). You brought it to me and said "oopen, oopen". We decided to cook it for you. Mommy, got out a pot and boiled some water. Each time you got impatient, Mommy would say, just wait, I'll cook it for you. You'd then repeat "... aa cooook ... it ?" Haha .. it was so cute.
Also on the weekend, we were sitting around in your bedroom. We could hear Devon and his friend Shawn playing in the family room in the basement below us. You said "aaaa kidds dooin ?" You could hear them playing and asked what are the kids doing. You're so cute.
Saying Thank You
Oh you are so darn cute. I just love it. Most times when we give you something, you say "tink yu" or "teek yu". Its so darn cute how you say it in your cute little voice... and you're so polite too.
Its so cute. When you see Mommy or I yawning, you look at us and in a cute voice say "aa tired?". You're so adorable.
You also said to Mommy a few times, "aa cooowd?" when she was sitting with you with her arms crossed, looking like she was cold.
When you're leaving a room, you'll grab the door knob, then turn around to me and say "aa cominn daddee ?" You're so cute.
Pillow - Lay Down
Last night, I layed down with you in your bed to try to get you to sleep. You tossed and turned and fussed for a long time. I finally decided I'd just get up and see if you'd sleep by yourself. You immediately sat up, grabbed your blanket and started shimmying yourself along so you could get off the bed. So I sat back down. You then layed back down with your blanet. Then you tapped the pillow beside your head, said "paawwoooo .... laaay dowwwn daddee" It was pretty darn adorable.
Playing With Hair Clips
You love playing with your little ponytail elastics. You call them ponnnnies. Last night, I was laying down on your bedroom floor with you when you were playing with them. I played with them with you. I took one little elastic and placed it on the floor, then I surrounded it with about 8 of your small hair clips (that look like flower petals) to make a flower. Then I said look Emma, a flower. And you'd repeat... "a foowwerr ?"
Tonight, you were trying to reach up on your dresser and were saying something like "fowww-werrr" I didn't know what you were saying. Then I realized you were reaching for the little dish with your hair clips and elastics in. I picked it up, sat on the floor with you, then you started taking the pieces out to make a flower like I was doing the night before. You are such a smart baby.
Obsessed With The Potty - Sometimes, Starting To
Tonight, you were pretty obsessed with your potty. You worked to pull your pants off, saying "offf, off, off". Then you opened and took off your diaper. Then you ran naked-bummed, into the bathroom to sit on your little princess potty. You kept running from the bathroom to your bedroom, to the living room. You'd sit on the potty, lean back, look around, get up, look in the tub, say "bye waaater" (you say that when the tub drains after a bath), you go over to the toilet and say "fuuuush", and try to flush it. When you do flush to the toilet, you wave at the water going down and say "byeee peeee"
Anyway, tonight, I was chasing you around, trying to put a diaper on you. It get a diaper on you, then you'd rip it off and head to the potty again. You'd sit on the potty, then you'd get up and say "aa door" and close the door, then sit back down again, then get up, and run back out to the living room, play with some toys, sit down and watch TV,e tc. You kept running back and forth.
I Love You So Much
You are so amazing. I love playing with you. I love sitting with you or laying on the floor with you. I love watching you do everything that you do. I can just sit and stare at you, watching your face, watching your expressions, watching you enjoying life and exploring the world. You're an amazing little girl. I love every day with you. You make me so happy.
I love you sweet baby.

We had a party for your birthday. Most of our family was there. Here's a picture of most everyone in the living room while you were opening your presents.
You and Jenna looked pretty cute reading a book together.
Here's a picture of your awesome birthday cake.
Here's a picture of Mommy bringing the cake to you.
After the party, we went outside to play. You and Jenna had lots of fun.
Happy Birthday Baby!
I love you!

We took you to a preschool halloween party at the Cornwall Civic centre today. It was pretty fun. You had a great time. You looked so pretty in your fairy dress. There were lots of decorations, dim lights, tables to colour at, face painting and a table to decorate your own cookies. There were lots of little kids there. You spent most of your time there stomping all around the room, weaving around people, and screaming. You had such fun.
Here's one of the pictures of you running around like a mad fool :)
Tonight, we were laying in your bed and I was reading your books to you. At one point, I was laying down reading one of your books out loud. You were laying beside me with another book open, and you were reading it too. It was pretty cute. You had the book open and you were talking jibberish.
So Funny, Locking Daddy Out
Tonight I was thinking about something you did a few weeks ago. You are so funny and cute. I was laying down with you in our bed, trying to get you to sleep. You didn't want to go to sleep, so you climbed out of bed and trotted out dragging your blanket behind you. You shut the hall door behind you, smirking back at me while you were closing it, shutting me back in the hall way. I think you even said "byyye" when you closed the door. Then I heard you go over to Mommy in the living room and say "aa daddee?" (that is... "where's daddee?"). You're such a cute little monkey :)
You were on the couch with Mommy and I this evening watching America's Funniest Videos. You are so cute. You were snuggled up in your blanket, sucking your thumb. You kept laughing at the funny videos by making a quick laughing exhale out of your nose. It was cute. You did it one other time a week or so ago. Last weeks show was much funnier and you were laughing more. It was pretty funny.
Sad Face - Happy Face
You're so funny. Sometimes when we tell you to do a sad face, you furrow your brow, purse your lips and make a groan. Sometimes you even fold your arms when you do it. Then you switch and make a big happy face and say "happpppy". Sometimes you even raise your arms in the air. Here's a couple photos of you posing.
Saaaad faaaace with arms folded ....
You're such an adorable little baby! I love you!
Saturday, October 16, 2010
We took you to Sears to get pictures taken with Jenna. Grammie has been asking for a while, so we finally decided to get you both together for some photos. We're going to give the picture to Grammie for Christmas, so we have to keep it secret until then. You both looked so cute in your dresses. Getting pictures wasn't too easy. Jenna was kinda scared and didn't want to get in front of the background. When we finally got you both together in front of the camera, it was hard to get you both looking at the camera and smiling. We did get a few good photos.
Here's a picture of you and Jenna playing quietly at the photo studio. I think most of the time, you weren't quietly playing ... I was chasing you all around.
Here are a couple of the awesome photos we got.
We went out for lunch afterwards. You and Jenna really started to warm up. You were hugging and holding hands. Outside, you were running around together. It was pretty cute. You were both pretty sad when we had to leave. Here are a bunch of the cute photos.
I love you beautiful baby!
